Message Two
Building
I. In Genesis 2 the flow of the river issued in three precious materials: gold, bdellium, and onyx, which are for the building of God—Gen. 2:11-12.
Gen. 2:11-12 The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one that goes around the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good; bdellium and onyx stone are there.
II. In Genesis 6 those who work together with God, received the revelation and built the ark—Gen. 6:14.
Gen. 6:14 Make yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make rooms in the ark and shall cover it within and without with pitch.
III. In Exodus 35 the tabernacle as the dwelling place of God was built by Israel—Exo. 35:10.
Exo. 35:10 And let every man who is wise in heart among you come and make all that Jehovah has commanded.
IV. In 1 Kings 6 Solomon built the temple according to his father King David’s charge, and the temple replaced the tabernacle as God’s dwelling on earth—1 Kings 6:1.
1 Kings 6:1 Then in the four hundred eightieth year after the children of Israel had come forth out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of his reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv (this is the second month), Solomon began to build the house of Jehovah.
V. Ezra 1 mentioned the return of the children of Israel from their captivity and rebuilding of the house of God—Ezra 1:2.
Ezra 1:2 Thus says Cyrus the king of Persia, All the kingdoms of the earth has Jehovah the God of heaven given to me; and He has charged me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
VI. Matthew 16 reveals that the church is built on Christ and on this revelation concerning Christ—Matt. 16:18.
Matt. 16:18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.
VII. John 1 says that the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us full of grace and reality—John 1:14.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and tabernacled among us (and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only Begotten from the Father), full of grace and reality.
VIII. Acts 4 says that Christ is the stone which was considered as nothing by the builders, which has become the head of the corner, for building up the dwelling place of God—Acts 4:11.

IX. 1 Corinthians 3 mentions that the Lord builds the church not directly but through His ministers, even through every member of His Body—1 Cor. 3:10.
1 Cor. 3:10 According to the grace of God given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid a foundation, and another builds upon it. But let each man take heed how he builds upon it.
X. In Ephesians 4, the function of the gifted ones is for the perfecting of the saints unto the work of the ministry, unto the building up of the Body of Christ—Eph. 4:12.
Eph. 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints unto the work of the ministry, unto the building up of the Body of Christ.
XI. 1 Peter 2 reveals that the goal of God upon believers is to gain the temple built with living stones—1 Pet. 2:5.
1 Pet. 2:5 You yourselves also, as living stones, are being built up as a spiritual house into a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
XII. Revelation 21 reveals that gold, pearl, and the precious stones are for the building up of the holy city, New Jerusalem as the temple of God—Rev. 21:18-19.
Rev. 21:18-19 And the building work of its wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass. The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned with every precious stone: the first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald.
