The Antidote to Depression

What do you usually do whenever you feel low and depressed? Do you convince yourself to be more open-minded, take a walk outside to be recharged, read some inspirational book, watch some comedy shows, come back to yourself, seek a new direction for life and even make a detailed life plan? There may be many ways to get out of the dumps. Notwithstanding, these attempts often cheer us only temporarily, and this happy feeling will not last. Is there any antidote to this depression? If only there were a life-giving remedy that could be added into our being? Is there an antidote that is always available and could be taken any time anywhere?

In the Bible Psalms 121 says, “I will lift up my eyes to the hills. From where will my help come? My help comes from Jehovah who made heaven and earth.” Furthermore, Isaiah 40 says, “Yet those who wait on Jehovah will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and will not faint; they will walk and will not become weary.” Dear friends, when you feel depressed and weak, please remember that you have a helper who is the Lord Jesus. He is constantly watching over you. He is your only antidote when you are feeling depressed, gloomy, and even hopeless.

Whenever you are in need, He will come into you to be your living spring to eliminate all your depression, turn your weakness to strength, and turn your depression to elation. The worries and anxieties may increase in your environment, but you do not have to worry, just open yourself to Him and tell Him, “Lord Jesus, I need You. You know that I have much worries and sufferings. Please come into me, be my life and remove all my anxieties! Lord, with You I can enjoy freedom and the transcendent life!”

When we converse with the Lord Jesus in this way, He as a living spring will unceasingly supply us to make our living full of life. Moreover, we will then be renewed in our strength, just like eagles who mount up with wings to break away from the earthly hustle and bondage and frustration, we then may soar in the heavens and experience transcendent freedom.
