Getting Rid of Anxiety

Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety in the midst of this raging pandemic? Some worry about finding toilet paper, others fear losing their jobs, many are concerned about the health of their loved ones, and still others struggle with their children’s distance learning. This internal anxiety can feel like a bottomless pit, consuming our physical and mental well-being. While we can stay home to avoid the virus outside, there seems to be no escape from the anxieties within. With so many storms in life, how can we possibly eliminate this anxiety?

Jesus said, “Do not be anxious about your life, what you should eat and what you should drink; nor for your body, what you should put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than clothing? … For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.”

Do you know that you have a heavenly Father? He cares deeply about your life and watches over you constantly. He knows your struggles and understands everything you need.

You can come before Him and tell Him everything on your mind, all your worries and concerns, one by one. The Bible tells us, “In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses every man’s understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.”

This God of peace not only watches over you from afar, but He is also ready to enter your heart and become your inner peace. If you accept Him, He will dispel your worries, dissolve your anxieties, and grant you peace and joy.
